DIY Derby Hat

I had the pleasure of attending a really fun derby-themed wedding for one of my former teammates this weekend. 

I was scrambling at the last minute for inspiration and came up with this simple, inexpensive, no-sew derby hat.

Supplies:

• Wide brim hat
• Scarf
• Safety Pins
• Bow
• Iron-on letters
• Iron

Wrap scarf around hat and tie knot to fasten to hat. Just use a scarf you already have laying around.

Secure scarf to hat with 2-3 safety pins.

Arrange embroidered monograms on bow. You can purchase a bow like this for $1.99 and iron-on letters for .99 at Hobby Lobby.

Apply sheer cloth or towel over bow and apply pressure to iron-on letters.

Fasten bow to hat with a safety pin. 

Complete in less than 20 minutes without sewing and for less than $25!

Also, great for a summer day on the water!
